You said yes to Jesus. Baptism is how you say it out loud, in front of everybody, on purpose. It is the next step, and it is a good one.
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward experience. It does not save you — Jesus did that. It announces it.
“…we too may live a new life.” — Romans 6:4 (NIV)
Jesus established water baptism when He gave the Great Commission. It is what believers do next, and it has been since the beginning.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them…” — Matthew 28:19 (ESV)
You go under in front of a room full of people. That is the point. Let the room see your yes.
“…they were baptized, both men and women.” — Acts 8:12 (KJV)
Anybody who has put their faith in Jesus. Not the people who have it all figured out — there is no such person, and waiting until you feel ready is how people wait for years.
